I ran this place via a journal that is no more. I didn't delete the community though. Oh yeah, I don't go to JC anymore. So I haven't been paying attention for a good while.
Do any of you actually use this place on a regular basis?

11:56 am - A Plea for help...I need financial aid!

Alright, maybe someone can help me out.

Before now, I was going to school on a single scholarship (for making a 30 on the ACT) that covered everything I needed for school. But, that's run out and I'm still not done; I've got another semester to go at JCJC, and probably at least 4 more at USM. So, I was hoping someone out there could point me in the right direction for some financial aid. I want to avoid loans as long as I can.

For this semester, I need about 2100 bucks; that's for both tuition and room & board. The more, the better, of course; honestly, I'd like at least $2500 to cover books and the like.

I've already filled out the FAFSA for a pell grant, and we'll see what that gets me. I've applied for MTAG (it's state-based aid), but that only covers base tuition past what the pell grant gives. I can't apply for anything else from the state, because they won't work with residual ACTs (even MTAG, but it sounds like that doesn't matter since I have at least 12 hours of college under my belt).

Any scholarships, grants, any way you can think of to get me free money will be appreciated. I really don't want to do loans if I don't have to...
